Uzz Zahru leaps at the chance to change her fate Kinder Poison The Kinder Poison PDF or if just for a night by sneaking into the palace for a taste of the revelry But the minor indiscretion turns into a deadly mistake when she gets caught up in a feud between the heirs and is forced to become the Crossing’s human sacrifice Zahru is left with only one hope for survival somehow figuring out how to overcome the most dangerous people in the world If you are a fan of the Darkling from Shadow and Bone Maven from Red ueen or Warner from Shatter Me this is a must read I m trying not to sound like a rabid fangirl but this is the YA fantasyromance I ve been looking for all yearI will say that I think the comparison to Red ueen is very accurate so keep that in mind I ll also confess that I almost wrote this book off in the beginning but it vastly improves Here are a few things about The Kinder Poison that might initially annoy you and why you should stick with it There s a Love Triangle But both love interests are compelling in their own way The eldest prince in particular is the exact kind of misunderstood villain that we all adore In the same vein there s definitely some insta attraction but it gets retconned pretty uickly The main character makes some dumb decisions in the beginning She becomes less naive as the story progresses Once she s thrown into a life or death situation she finds multiple ingenious ways to connive her way to safety Zahru s character arc is so good The world is not entirely fleshed out This is a fully character driven book But I also get the sense that much of this world will be explored in the seuel Plot Zahru is a whisperer which means she can talk to animals This is considered an inferior type of magic in the class system that exists One day her best friend Hen sneaks them aboard a ship that takes them from their small village to the royal palace Unfortunately she gets embroiled in a life long feud between two brothers who are heirs to the throne and is forced to become the human sacrifice in a competition to determine who will rule the kingdom As she faces the dangerous desert she comes to understand and care for the same people who have been commanded to kill her Characters and Relationships Zahru Our main character is underpowered and actually stays that way There s no hidden talent that makes her the most powerful being imaginable she has to think her way out of problems The best thing about Zahru is her kind heart She is genuinely a forgiving and loving person with a great sense of sarcasm to bootSakira The youngest heir Sakira is the life of the party Her charm makes her beloved by many subjects However she has some hidden depth She is willing to do bad things for the greater good no matter the cost to her soul Jet Second in line Jet is the reluctant heir His father wants him to be king but he has other plans Jet is the kindest to Zahru and while their romance is nothing special I loved learning about his pastKasta The eldest in line for the throne Kasta is a tragic figure made a monster by his circumstances He has never been enough for his father so he has to use his ingenuity and resourcefulness to get ahead Zahru and Kasta gave me all the feels Their explosiveness push and pull dynamic and chemistry leapt off the page It has been a while since I ve been this invested in a relationship and I don t think redemption is out of the uestion Unlike the Darkling he is still very young and unsure about who he wants to be It will take time but I m hoping he breaks free of his shadows The book says it best Kindness is like a poison Sometimes it takes time to work The start was a bit rocky but this ended up being a favourite of the year Best believe I ll be bribing Natalie Mae for the next book

Perfect for Poison The PDF #186 fans of Victoria Aveyard and Holly Black this enthralling fantasy adventure follows a teenage girl chosen to be the human sacrifice in a deadly game between three heirs who will do anything for the crownZahru has long dreamed of leaving the kingdom of Orkena and having The Kinder MOBI #224 the kinds of adventures she’s only ever heard about in stories But as a lowly Whisperer her power to commune with animals m Thank you so much to Penguin Teen for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest reviewuick StatsOverall 455 StarsCharacters 55Setting 45Writing 55Plot and Themes 455Awesomeness Factor 45Review in a Nutshell The Kinder Poison surprised me with it s humor and addictive ualities All good stories start with bad decisions The Kinder Poison is a fantastic debut novel The world building is interesting and immersive with fascinating mythology and a fun magic system Fun is probably the word I would say best describes this book from the writing style to the plot and the characters it was a fun ride The writing style was easy to jump into but what I loved most was the sarcastic tone It brought a lot of humor to the book that I didn t expect and I m obsessed with it The writing style also lends itself well to the fast pace of the book From page one I was hooked and I continued to be hooked until I finished it And that ending Let s just say I m very excited for the seuel Now for my favorite part the characters I really enjoyed the cast of characters we got to know over the course of this book Zahru is an amazing heroine Her desire for adventure is unmatched and her friendship with Hen is such a great part of this book We had a lot of morally grey characters which is my favorite thing and I really enjoyed learning the histories and backstories of the characters we meet Also there s a great romance building It does feature a love triangle but so far I don t hate it No matter what you re born to you can be Conclusion Pros great writing style strong characters interesting worldCons love triangle world building could be a little less vagueOverall 455 stars The Kinder Poison was an amazing read and I am so excited to see where the series goesFollow Me Here Blog Tumblr Bookstagram Twitter Reviews

Thank you so much to Bookish First and Razorbill for my finished copy of The Kinder Poison  It is a gorgeous hardcover and for my fellow book sniffers has that great sawdust smell 😂Tons of sibling rivalry a magical and dangerous race a taste of political intrigue and some interesting family dynamics are all aspects that drew me

I love when books are character driven and this one was so good The siblings Jet Kasta and Sakira were all very interesting and had great backstories While the main character Zahru didn’t have an interesting backstory and I felt all of the other characters were interesting And the magic system I hope to see of it in the next book because it was really interesting especially the powers that Maia has The world building was good but I want
